Berkshire Public Information
Public Information is the part of Alcoholics Anonymous that is set up to cater for schools, colleges, churches, hospitals and clinics, the legal system, citizens advice bureaux infact anyone who wants to know more about alcoholism and how Alcoholics Anonymous works.
At present we go out to schools with a 'Persons' video, literature and preferably two speakers, one male one female,we tell them about AA, show the video and then try and expand on what they have seen and heard and what we have told them about ourselves. We then invite questions, answer them and leave literature with the teacher in charge.
We would like to go out to the police, doctors surgeries, probation
service, social services,prisons indeed anyone involved in the 'helping' process..
We welcome enquiries from: ( but not limited to )
Social Workers,
Teachers and lecturers,
Ministers of Church or Chapel,
Nurses (especially mental health), doctors
and psychiatrists,
Those concerned in the administration of justice,
(lawyers, judges, police, probation service, and JPs)
Citizens Advice Bureaux...............
